No ones heard of Blowfly?
My first thought was My Way by Sid Vicious.

That was awesome in the most utterly terrifying way imaginable.
Well, apart from the psychedelic jellyfish. They were just awesome.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: David Byrne singing Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” and “These Boots are Made for Walking.”
The Reverend Horton Heat did a cover medley of the Jonny Quest Theme and Stop That Pigeon. Someone has made a video of it here. You can probably bail at 1:50, the second half is nothing special. The Jonny Quest part fuckin’ rocks!
All time favorite? The London Philharmonic’s version of Kashmir.
Recent favorite: the Puppini Sisters’ We Have All the Time in the World.
Good picks.
Hendrix made it hard for anyone to follow “Banner” playing a fretted instrument, but Bela Fleck covers it in an entirely new and fitting way on the eve of the '91 Gulf War.
Frente! doing an acoustic cover of New Order’s Bizarre Love Triangle
I have the CD that’s from - Saturday Morning Cartoons’ Greatest Hits. It is several shades of awesome.
Under the Bridge - Genaside II feat. Rose Windross
Really nice, dark breakbeaty cover of Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Easy Star All Stars (the name in the YouTube video for “Time” linked below is incorrect) put out a reggae/dub cover of the classic Pink Floyd album called “Dub Side of the Moon” a couple of years ago. It’s all brilliant, but try this and this and this on for size.
Of course, there’s always the rock version of Boyz in the Hood by Dynamite Hack.
Same one I always mention in these threads: the Stranglers’ furiously jammed-out punk version of Burt Bacharach’s “Walk On By.”
See post #24
Vivian Campbell of Def Leppard’s cover of “.32-20 Blues” is pretty good, as is Leppard’s covers album, “YEAH!” I especially like their version of “Rock On” because of their edginess and tension in the way the perform the song. I also quite like “Waterloo Sunset” and “Hangin’ On The Telephone.”
No, it can’t be that version of “Black Hole Sun” - it has to be the Steve and Eydie version:
Sadly, no real video.
Dolly Parton Singing “Stairway to Heaven”
The live version is much better than this studio version which is way too melodramatic. I like the energy coming out of her backup band on the live version.
Always thought Stairway needed a banjo.
Turtle Island String Quartet doing Whole Lotta Love.
Richard Thompson doing “Oops I Did it Again.”
Battlefield Band doing “Bad Moon Rising”, which really needed bagpipes.
BMR, as in Creedence Clearwater Revival?
Bagpipes?
