Most of the pages I find entertaining, informative, and interesting have come from links from the SDMB. For example, I have found sites such as http://www.google.com , http://www.howstuffworks.com , http://www.productopia.com , the house of con games: http://www.geocities.com/king_grifter/ , http://www.mapquest.com , song lyrics search: http://www.songmeanings.net/search.php?type=advanced , http://www.switchboard.com , http://www.snopes.com , http://www.worstcasescenaries.com , phrase origions: http://members.aol.com/MorelandC/HaveOrigins.htm , The Simpsons Archive: http://www.snpp.com/ , and many more sites just from reading the boards. So, I am sure that there are many fascinating sites that I have yet to come across. So, what are your favorite web sites? Thanks.
Funny, it looked alright in preview.
Why did it add all the stuff before the www part? I didn’t put it there, honest!
You have to type the “http://” too.

Of course, I am biased.
Other than that, the boards and the Straight Dope, of course.
mother of all search engines
OK so it’s french. Ok, it’s also a meta-engine.
still pretty spiffy though.
Ahh nertz, I knew I did something wrong.
Thanks Gunslinger
One of my many faves is http://www.literotica.com
I like the chat room there…
It may not be for everyone, but I dig it…
I am rather fond of my banana boy!
The Onion has reeked of crappiness as of late.
Not including the Straight Dope, of course (that’s obvious) –
The Skeptic’s Dictionary
Snopes’ Urban Legends Reference Pages
CSICOP
And, with some amount of bias:
RealityNewsOnline
NonfictionReviews.com
Skeptic News
Rational Examination Association of Lincoln Land (REALL)
I agree that mapquest is an awesome site. I use it religiously.
However, entertainment-wise I used to peruse through StileProject quite a bit, though must admit that I haven’t been there for well over four months. I think he needs to read a basic book on the way of the Tao, though, because for someone who doesn’t want to represent anything he sure found a bad way to do it.
Otherwise, I religiously check up on TheSpark which has a wit to it I have never found elsewhere. But, its also right up the street from me and I met one of its main contributors in an airport, so I think I’ve grown biased on that point. For the record, he was a cool guy (Christian Rudder) and though I made the somewhat disingenious remark “You’re, like, almost famous to me!” I think he knew what I meant.
