Your Favorite Wyndham Hill Cd's....

… or however you listen.

Me? George Winston, or…

any of the Winter Solstice (Winter is my favorite season) works.

Thanks

Sorry, the only Wyndham Hill I’ve ever been able to sit through was Tuck and Patti.

So, Tuck and Patti, I guess.

I used to listen to Windham Hill artists all the time, starting way back in the early '80’s when we used to buy LPs. I haven’t kept up, but I always loved anything by Michael Hedges, Malcolm Dalglish, Nightnoise and Shadowfax.

I have a special fondness for Will Ackerman, the founder, because he’s a fan of my gal Hap. Her music didn’t/doesn’t fit Windham Hill, but they’re friends. I like this song from Ackerman’s album Hearing Voices.

I like “The Impressionists” sampler

The George Winston offerings were must haves back in the 80’s when his popularity first peaked. Having seen him twice in Austin in the summer where he had the auditorium operators turn off the A.C. so it wouldn’t interfere with his music… well, let’s just say I found his recordings more soothing than his performances.

Shadowfax and Will Ackerman.

One of my best music memories was doing work/study at the photo lab in art school. This cute guy brought his little boombox for me to listen to so I wouldn’t be so bored. He played George Winston, and I want to say it was Winter- I had a mini crush on him because of that music. I’ll have to listen to that again sometime- I haven’t heard it since '88.

I’ve listened to the 1981 Sampler over and over and over. Great stuff.

(Windham, not Wyndham, as has been noted).

Took another look on my shelf. My all-time favorite WH albums:

Sampler '81
A Winter’s Solstice
It Takes A Year
Winter Into Spring
December
Forest

Also, Danny Wright’s Phantasys has a definite Windham Hill sound, but was issued by Nicholas-Wright Records.

All good stuff.

George Winston’s December. Everything about it is perfect.

The Dreams Of Children - Shadowfax
Not a bad track on it.
