Your Highness with James Franco and Natalie Portman

Just saw this trailer, and there were a few things that made me laugh. And Natalie Portman in a thong bikini is never a bad thing.

The humor is aimed squarely at the immature guy demographic, and all the best bits are probably in the trailer, but i think i might check this out.

Holy shit.

You didn’t even mention that it has Danny McBride and Zooey Deschanel! This looks fantastic.

I am seriously disappointed at how many comedy movies are doing this now. Crude and disgusting is not funny to me, now I’m old and crusty, so I miss out on the funny.

I love Danny McBride, James Franco (well, some of the time, and no writing class fiction, thanks). But this just looks like a lot of gay jokes and f-bomb punchlines.

please don’t suck…please don’t suck…please don’t suck…please don’t suck…please don’t suck…please don’t suck…

Franco has the most eccentric career choices in history. He’ll do arthouse, soap opera (literally, a TV soap opera), stoner comedy, MILK, now this. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn his next project is Brecht’s GALILEO or CADDYSHACK 3D.

What an astonishing cross between awesome and utterly retarded.

You’re not trying hard enough. Youth is fleeting, but you can be immature forever!

Natalie and Zooey!??! :cue animated swoon smiley we don’t have:

On a slightly more sober note, this might end up making a lot of Bottom Ten lists by the end of the year in question.

I`m afraid I have to agree with GuanoLad here. Lots of fucks and mother fuckers does not a comedy make. There is potential for it to be enjoyable but the trailer makes it a 50/50 proposition.

Here’s a nerdy piece of trivia. There’s a brief shot of a castle at the beginning of the trailer. I recognised it immediately as Alnwick Castle, aka The Black Adder’s castle from the first series.

I am so there

Declan

I would say this absolutely qualifies as stoner comedy. At least that’s the intended audience.

No, but lots of fucks in a medieval setting with dragons and princesses sure could.

Exactly.

That is really the only way to describe this.

I am totally going to see this, and it is totally going to suck.

This was directed by David Gordon Green, who I think has made a lot of terrific films (George Washington, All the Real Girls, Pineapple Express), so while I’m not expecting it to be more than him in Mel Brooks-mode, I still will definitely be there.

Best jokes are in the trailer, right?
“Triangle face scares me.”

Oh, man, that was lame-o
