Your Lost Childhood... which item?

Like several other people in this thread I still have the one item from my childhood. It is a 6 inch tall koala bear doll that was given to me when I was born by my aunt who was living in Australia. I guess I would suck on the ears when I was a baby, so all the fur has been worn off. He has also lost an eye and is generally threadbare, but I still love it just the same. The only thing from my childhood I don’t have now that I wish I had was a Gumby doll, but it has nowhere near the importance of my Koala.

I wish I had all my old Archie comics that I collected as a kid, including some vintage ones I ressurected from the basement of some of my grandparent’s friends. I cut some of the pictures out of them, and eventually they all got lost. If I had those intact . . . $$$$$.

(Consider my response colored by my trip to the San Diego Comic-Con this weekend).

My Sesamee Street Album w/the big hard cover yellow song book. I’ve searched eBay for about a year now & have never seen another one. The song book was about 150 pgs with words & music. I bet my brother took it. He took all my good stuff. :frowning:

One of the things I wish I still had from my childhood was all my original Hotwheels cars with all of the track. I even had 3 of the things that would shoot your cars around the track. I remember setting it up in our basement and had it all figured out so that when the car would start slowing down, it would hit the next car shooter and keep the cars running all the way around the track.

One thing I still have… or rather 3 things… are my old Mattel handheld games. You know the ones with the little red blips. I had Basketball, Football, and the Battlestar Galactica games. All still work. I used to take the basketball game and just play one side and see how many points I could score. I think it was something like 218 pts that was my last record.

Ah childhood… what a wonderful thing.

Ok…but no one knows about it…

I had a little stuffed green frog full of styrofoam beads. I never named him…used to tell my mom if he wanted a name he’d have given himself one.

My mom got it as a baby shower before I was born and I played with it until I was old enough to not do such a thing…but I always had it.

It was at my mothers house last time I checked, I plan to retrieve for my children ifI ever manage to create such things…

Oh, and I have a baby pic of me playing with the frog in th tub, circa 18 months that I may post if I get brave.

Wow, I sense a conspiracy here. I, too, had both a Zippy Chipmanzee doll and one of those Karen dolls with the dual hairdos. Both are missing. Haven’t seen 'em or even thought about 'em since I was a kid. Somewhere, there is a huge warehouse full of these things…

Ack! Umm, Athena, you didn’t lend it to my sister did you? She had one of those. I think. Is that the one that has blonde hair, then you twist the top of her skull (ick!) and her hair is black on the other side? My sister had one of those that her friend lent her and I mutilated it. I chopped the hair and held the face to the lightbulb of her Holly Hobbie oven until it was massively disfigured. Yeah, I was a mean little shit.

Anyway, I wish i had back this electric car set. It was a construction set, so it had a big truck with a trailer, where if you backed under this hopper, it dropped a bunch of plastic balls into the bed. It had some other, really cool building and vehicles. Realistic looking roadsigns too! I miss that thing. :frowning:
