Lynn, have you tried your recipe with Heinz 57 instead of A1? If so, how did it turn out?
Some of mine is by feal, so I am not sure on parts
1.5 LBs hamburger (I like the really low fat stuff like ground sirloin)
1/2 chopped green pepper
1/2 chopped onion
sort of a bunch of catsup i think maybe 1/2 to 3/4 cup
couple splurts of wostershire sause
2 cups oatmeal ( Uncooked of course)
2 eggs
2 tsp italian seasoning.
I had a writen recipe once but I don’t really use it anymore.
I love that sauce for meatballs! It’s in the Betty Crocker cookbook I got as a bride! My friend Laurie served it at a New Year’s Eve party (she got the same cookbook as a wedding gift from the same person who gave me mine!) and I loved it! Never would have tried the recipe on my own, but it became one of my standard party dishes for years! So simple to make, and no one ever guesses what the ingredients are!
I am going to get the ingredients for several of these meatloaf recipes.
My question is this: for those who use bread chunks ( not crumbs) is white or wheat better, or does it not matter?
