I guess Captain Pike would be too much of a compliment then, eh?
Potter. Definitely.
Pike was injured heroically rescuing military cadets, so that’s a big no, Leaffan
Mr. Potter. Soon as I saw him I said, “Hey, Cheney looks like Mr. Potter.”
You gotta admit, the hat takes it to a whole new level of overlord evil. (far right, of course)
Actually, he put them on shortly before he was put in the limo after the inauguration to leave town (before the luncheon - he and Bush both left beforehand).
My thoughts exactly. “Freakin’ goldbricker”
I’m just too lazy to go from there to a 9/11 spoof using his “plane has crashed into the mountain” line. But you can probably do so mentally yourself.
I thought Potter and I called my brother last night to talk about the events of the day and when I brought up Cheney he interrupted me to say, “He looked like Mr. Potter from a wonderful life.”
I note Jon Stewart went with Blofeld from Bond (with the white cat) or Dr. Strangelove.
You’ve poisoned me for the last time!
I see Cheney-in-wheelchair more as a portlier version of Davros from “Doctor Who.” True, Cheney’s own mechanical implants aren’t nearly as visible, but the arrogant megalomania is certainly spot-on. I wonder what’s really being tinkered on in Halliburton’s biological weapons division…
Definitely Mr. Potter. I think he was even carrying a folded newspaper with Uncle Billie’s bank deposit in it.
I also couldn’t help but imagine him thinking “who can I torture with this cane on my way out?”
Shakes fist: damn you, I thought of Davros just after my previous post. I liked the earlier Davros, where he was a sort of cybernetic Saruman, persuasive and subtly manipulative, rather than the ranting caricature he later became.
Cheney could have played Dr. Evil in the Austin Powers series.
With the hat, he kinda looks like Judge Doom, the villain from Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
The first shot I saw of him, he was wearing those black gloves and grinning.
So, Strangelove.
Keep in mind Dr. Evil was basically Blofeld from Bond as was the bad guy in Inspector Gadget.
