Actually I just found it lol Here
Rhymes with garden, pardon, and harden. None provide easy opportunities for mocking, so it passes MY test.
Arden means “to blaze or dazzle.”
Cool meaning but to me it sounds more like a boy’s name. And a boy named Arden had better be properly pumped up.
But it’s your kid, and it’s definitely unique. There won’t be 4 Ardens in your kid’s kindergarten class
I like it. She’ll probably have to spell it for people, but I have to do that, it isn’t so bad. I prefer that to having to clarify which one of the dozen of something in the room I am.
Personally, I don’t like it very much. Just doesn’t have the tonal quality I like for a name. A little too harsh for my ears.
I really like it and I am very critical of names. It doesn’t sound boyish to me, I like the spelling and I think that most people will “get it” right away and she won’t be spelling it every five seconds. I like it so much I predict it’s on the cusp of popularity.
I’m not a big fan of it, but then I don’t like too many “unusual” names anyway. I’m more of a Joe, John, Sam, Mary, Linda, Sally kind of guy. But so many people go for the unusual names now, so I guess I’m in the minority on this issue.
P.S. My child-to-be will be a Joshua or a Rachael, so again, my wife and I are both pretty traditional in that regard.
It is a male name but I guess that matters little now days…
It’s actually both male and female.

To me, it sounds a little too much like ‘hard-on’, which only be slang for an erection in the UK, however, so you might be okay.
I don’t think it sounds like a boys name, and I think it’s beautiful.
I didn’t think of the Elizabeth Arden connection until I read it in a post.
I agree with the people who say it’s great because it’s uncommon, but not so uncommon that it sounds made-up.
Happy baby-having!!
Am I the first to immediately think of Arwen? I think Arden is beautiful and quite feminine.
I dislike it. I just don’t like the way it sounds.
No, it’s US slang too. But en and on don’t sound much a like to me. It’s not like you pronounce it Ardon.
I really like it.
It tells me, Shirley, the Collector and Watcher of Names™ that you are capable of thinking outside the box without being uber trendy and way out there. Your daughter, should you chose this name for her, will be one of a kind, the center of attention and well liked. Her lucky number will be 3. Thus concludes my Kabalarian forecast du jour.
One of our best friends, a guy, has this as his middle name. It is an old family name. I’ve always thought it was classy.
FWIW, you have the Seal of Approval from Shirley.
Clearly, you haven’t known many children ;). My last name is uncommon–I think there are less than ten of us outside Sicily–and it has the letters “pin” in the middle. Otherwise, bears absolutely no phonic resemblance to any male body part, whatsoever. But oh, the penis jokes abounded
About the name Arden, I don’t hate it, but I don’t think it’s all that great, either. Of course, this may be because I lived near Sacramento, where there’s an Arden Fair Mall and an Arden Way, so that’s probably the cause. Plus, I can’t think of any attractive nicknames, aside from Ardie or maybe Danny, and don’t think you can get away with everyone calling her Arden for the rest of her life, 'cause her friends will nickname her–be sure there’s an option you like.

Really, though, WHAT ARE PEOPLE THINKING? I don’t have children, but when I think of names that I like for my potential future children, I like to think about that kid at age 65, or even 80. Can you imagine Infiniti, Guiness, Rayon, and Skyy at the nursing home? Ugh!
Arden definitely does not fall into this absurd category. It really is lovely!
I strongly prefer more traditional names, so my first reaction was “ew.” But then I reconsidered: It does have historical precedent, and I actually rather like it. So, you get a yes vote from me, too.
I think it’s a beautiful name. Good luck with the baby!
I think it’s a nice name. Of course, all the boys will be hoping that young Arden is ardent in her affections.
