Warren Zevon, Things to do in Denver When You’re Dead
Nature’s Way - Spirit
“It’s nature’s way of telling you something’s wrong…”
Fleetwood Mac, The City
I haven’t listened to music regularly for eons, but lately, my good friend Alexa had been sharing Big Band, folk, and easy listening. I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed those genres.
Accept - Pandemic
We have Sirius XM and listen to Tom Petty’s Buried Treasure Show every night. It was on for years, so there are dozens of episodes and they rock.
Another Warren Zevon:
"I want to live all alone in the desert
I want to be like Georgia O’Keefe
I want to live on the Upper East Side
And never go down in the street
Splendid Isolation
I don’t need no one
Splendid Isolation…"
Eric Carmen - All By Myself
I can’t believe I didn’t think of this earlier :smack:
“The people will survive
In their environment”
We can’t forget Larry Underwood’s one and only hit song before Captain Trips set in - “Baby Can You Dig Your Man”.
The Flamin’ Groovies’ “Slow Death” also makes my playlist.
I called the doctor
In the morning
I had a fever
It was a warning
She said “There’s nothing I can prescribe
To keep your raunchy bag of bones alive”
I still have this one in my playlist, and for years:
Tobu: Infectious
That coughing in this electronic piece is so appropriate…
Dusty Springfield -I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself
The Clash - “Lost in the Supermarket”
*Because of all the empty shelves!
You might add another song from “London Calling”, “Four Horsemen”.
And one by Richard Thompson:
Alone Again, Naturally seems like an obvious choice.
It is the same as my usual list. When I am in the mood for a song I look up old music videos like Taylor Daynes “Tell It to my Heart” or goofy (but brilliant) ones like songs by Lonely Island.
Watch that Taylor Daynes music video at least once a week, please.
