Because of a snoring situation (him), I sleep in a separate room from my husband. It started when our son was fighting cancer and I decided to sleep in the spare room next to his in case he needed me. The sleeping apart was so luxurious for both of us that we never looked back!
I was a snooze alarm user but haven’t used it in many years. I don’t set my alarm clock anymore, I use my phone alarm but am awake and out of bed 10-15 minutes before it goes off 90% of the time. I sleep an average of 6 hours/night. I’m usually sleeping by 10:30-11 and up by 5:15 on weekdays and 6-6:30 on weekends.
I take 1 Walmart brand PM pill every night and have been doing this for over 30 years. It helps me to fall asleep without my mind racing with anxiety-ridden thoughts. I always either read or watch something on my tablet (Netflix or Amazon) for about 15 -30 minutes.
I always fall asleep on my right side and will switch sides off and on throughout the night. Rarely sleep on my back and NEVER sleep on my stomach.
Depending on the time of year, I have my window open or window open with either a window fan or AC unit. I also have a fan on my dresser that runs 365 nights/year. It has to be cool/cold in my room. Colder the better. I sleep in a tank top and underwear. I cannot sleep in a full suit of clothing or a night gown that wraps around my body.
No night light and my door is closed.
I have to be snuggled under my comforter in the winter and quilt in the summer. I could never sleep uncovered. If it’s really cold, I have an extra blanket at the foot of my bed that I pull up.
I get up at least once a night for a potty break but am usually able to fall right back to sleep.
I dream a lot and can remember some as I’m waking up.
