Action has been sparse on the FEMALE threads, but it’s early yet and nothing’s etched in stone there – at least for now.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone cast a vote for Audie Murphy? Or for any of the many stars from old TV Westerns (e.g., Stuart Whitman, Andrew Duggan, Lee Majors)?
Here’s the only one of the preliminary polls where Audie got a vote:
He didn’t get enough to move on in the process. He’s not alone in that regard.
Maybe we need to start all over? There were oodles of people mentioned along the way but when it came voting time their names didn’t get many (if any) votes. It’s been that way in all these ventures.
Aha. I do see a fair number of TV stars mentioned. I guess it’s a generational thing again, but I wonder how many Dopers remember that Dennis Weaver was Chester Goode on Gunsmoke long before he became McCloud, or that William Conrad (aka detective Frank Cannon) was the original Matt Dillon on the radio version of Gunsmoke (which was before even my time).
You should probably do a separate poll just for the stars of TV Westerns. My list would have Robert Conrad and Ross Martin near the top.
What I think I’ll do to be sure every Westerns star who has been mentioned anywhere along the way in the threads/polls I’ve started this year (movies, TV or Radio) has a chance to be in on whatever Final Poll we decide needs to happen is to collect all the No-Votes people from wherever and put up one last Tidy-Up (#3 it will be) so there’s one more shot at getting some votes for any of them that people want to be in on that Last Straw.
If you, or anyone, want to do similar polling on the general issue of Westerns, be it movies, TV, comics, radio or Intenet-based productions, please be my guest. Mention your threads(s) here if you like so others who may be curious enough to want to have voted can see those threads.
Best I can tell, my efforts started 04-02-2015, 03:10 PM with Pre-Poll Data Collecting – Westerns Stars and there have been a bunch of follow-up threads since then. But I believe it’s about time for my efforts in this project to come to an end. I’ll shoot for that Tidy-Up #3 soon.
