Mine…
- Frank Skinner. (Where’s the funny?)
- Jim Davidson. (Racist mysoginist)
- Bernard Manning RIP (Rest in something unpleasant beginning with P)
- Harry Hill. (I have never understood the appeal of clowns. Harry is just a clown without clown makeup)
Mine…
Larry the Cable Bastard
Frank Caliendo
One guy I can’t remember the name of. He’s usually pretty frazzled looking (like he just got out of bed), most of his act is about what a nerd he is, and his voice is an irritating whine that just makes me want to slap him. Not Jim Gaffigan or David Cross, although he makes me think of those two much better comedians. He occasionally gets bit parts in movies, but I can’t remember which.
I actually can’t put Dane Cook in my least favorite pile. He steals jokes and he’s an immature douche, yes, but his delivery is superb. The ones I listed have no redeeming qualities.
That sounds like it could be Brian Posehn. I love him.
Wendy Liebman annoying whispered side comments
Wendy Liebman in place of the usual punchline
Wendy Liebman after every last goddamn joke
Wendy Liebman until you want to smack her
Wendy Liebman with a fucking pipe wrench
**Andrew Dice Clay **(assuming they can be washed up nobodies now) Oh my god, how I hate him.
Dane Cook Lame.
Carlos Mencia I liked him when he first came out but now hate him.
Tim Allen I don’t know if he still does standup, but that’s how he started. I absolutely hate that show * Home Improvement * (long off the air) and consequently hate him.
Robin Williams Too manic, too much, tries way too hard. I don’t hate him but I don’t like him, either.
Here’s my bottom few, with a blank spot at #1 because it belongs to a comic who I’ve blanked out of my mind - he was THAT bad. I heard him on Sirius once, about 8 months ago, and apparently Sirius agrees with me since I haven’t heard him since.
#1: ______ ______
#2: Judah Friedlander - his “World Champion of the World” but was the worst bit I’d heard until the unknown #1 comic “topped” it.
#3: Lisa Lampanelli - Formula: Sling crude, unfunny insults at every possible ethnic group. Mix liberally with “I kid because I love” comments, but continue the insults until bit ends or I change the channel (which I always do first).
#4: Eddie Griffin: Did you fuckin’ know “fuck” was a fuckin’ punchline? Fuck no!
#5: Andrew Dice Clay: The fact he sold out arenas in the '90s is a compelling argument for mandatory sterilization.
#6: Margaret Cho: Doing your therapy session onstage is not watchable comedy.
#7: Dane Cook: 75% unfunny stories and 25% material stolen directly from Louis CK.
#8 Brian Posehn: Very annoying.
#9: Sarah Silverman: Cute chick saying outrageous horrible things does NOT equal funny.
#10: Adam Sandler: His comedy bits, like his movies, have a mean streak as wide as Texas running through them. A verbal bully.
Worst = Carlos Mencia (thief)
2nd worst = Dane Cook (too concerned with his image instead of being funny)
Replace Frank Skinner with Jimmy Carr and that’d be my list too.
Yeah, Posehn. I won’t rag on him too much, but he reaaally doesn’t do anything for me.
There’s one other comedian who I’d never heard of until I watched the Payaso Comedy Slam: Joey Diaz. Completely and utterly unfunny, unpleasant to listen to, and his material was pretty offensive. Most comedians, you can tell that they have some affection for their subjects, or at least they’re really, really funny. Even Carlos Mencia, for all his shit about retarded people, manages to make it clear that he’s just kidding around. Much of Diaz’s act revolved around mocking gays in a way that didn’t seem like just kidding around; I got the sense that he has no problem calling people and things “faggy” while being completely serious, for instance. Most of the other comedians in the Payaso Comedy Slam were either mediocre or pretty damn good, but this guy was just revolting.
