Me too. I saw 60 Minutes to Kill when it first aired (1974?), once or twice since then.
Has anyone mentioned “One Piece at a Time” by Johnny Cash?
“The Vatican Rag” by Tom Lehrer.
“There’s a New Sound” by Tony Borello. (On the “Horrible” label).
I don’t think so, though it’s a runner-up for my list of three.
Word Crimes is a work of genius.
Three of my favorites:
I Love Onions by Susan Christie
The Vatican Rag by Tom Lehrer
Any Ice To-Day, Lady? by Waring’s Pennsylvanians
Ben Folds, “Ass Crack Bandit”.
It was written for an episode of Community, “Basic Intergluteal Numismatics”, which was a parody of psychological thrillers, particularly David Fincher’s Zodiac.
It also rescues a song with a catchy tune and absolutely vile lyrics. Nobody should listen to “Blurred Lines”; everyone should instead listen to Al’s version.
The youtube video of it is great too.
I know I’m late to the party, but I love this topic!
Song by the 2 Nice Girls:
I Spent My Last $10 on Birth Control and Beer
Adam Sandler’s The Hanukkah Song
Monty Python’s I’m so Worried
That last one was kinda the anthem of my life for a while, and when I’d start to stress or perseverate on something, my friends would tell me to quite worrying about the baggage retrieval system they’ve got at Heathr
He’s free as the breeze
He’s always at ease
He lives in the jungle
And hangs by his knees
As he swings through the trees
Without a trapeze
In his Bee Vee Dees
The above was done from memory. I still have my 45…somewhere.
