Your Unusual Talent/Gift

Lets see…
-I know PI to 100 decimals
-I have a black belt in karate
-I juggle
-I’m a magician
-I know most any Monty Python scetch by heart.

I wouldn’t say that I can do any of these things better than anyone else, but the fact that I do this particular combination of things makes me a unique and special person. I’ve always gotten into things that were a little differnt, that others don’t normally do. It’s fun and makes it much easier to talk to pretty women at parties.

Well, I’ve memorized pi to 200 decimal places! Nyah nyah! :stuck_out_tongue:

  • I can imitate any accent directly after hearing it.
  • I can tell from my room ( in the basement ) who is walking around upstairs by the sound of their footsteps. This applies to my family AND my cats.
  • I can dilate my pupils at will.
  • I can make this really loud rumble noise with my stomach.
  • I can rotate my hands 540 degrees.
  • I can make my eyes vibrate.
  • I type an average of 80 wpm.
  • I can, by putting them behind me, put my feet on my head.
  • I can make a pretty good pigeon noise.
  • I have an amazing ability of attracting weird people.
  • I can do teddybear stands for very long periods of time.
  • I always recognize people, even if I’d only ever met them once before.
  • I can recognize popular songs by the first note I hear.
  • I quite often, answer questions before they are asked.
  • Even in huge crowds, if there’s someone there that I know, I’ll see them.

This is turning into a pissing contest.

I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. This after two years of instruction. Normally it takes at least 3.

I can perform most of those incredibly complex moves you see in movies whre they hire Jet Li or someone to do seemingly complex martial arts moves. Thus these movies are pretty lame to me.

I can type damn fast, though exactly how fast I dunno. But not 80 wpm. My mother, though, used to do 120 wpm. so :stuck_out_tongue: and nyah yourself.

I can also recognize a good number of songs, modern and otherwise, by the first bar or bars.

For about 95 percent of major league baseball players, given a last name I can tell you most of the time any player with that last name.

I can balance on my hands in two ways. One of them is not a handstand.

Not only can I read upside down and sideways, I can read most any handwriting, stemming from the fact that mine sucks.

I have gotten a 3 on a purity test when one possible score was upwards of 250.

I am 68 percent pure. Damn that one percent!

Years after the shows ended, I can still recall the entire major cast of several sitcoms.

If I know you well enough, I can tell you what you’ll think in response to a given situation.

Ok, can you recite the sketch of the guy with the incredibly long name (which ended in “of Ulm”) without looking it up?

(I can’t)

Geez, Annie. We have similar talents, except I don’t bother with phone numbers, usually. Unless I know it’s one my hubby will be asking me for…

I have excellent hearing.
I remember what I read, and what I hear.
I’m a pretty fair typist, myself, tho not as good as you…

Mostly, tho, it’s the remembering thing that makes people think I’m either really smart, or a total freak.

That first one is something I’ve been trying to teach myself. I can do it, but only in front of a mirror, and I can’t really control the dilation, just initiate the change.

And as for the second one, you just got another.

My talents aren’t great–I’m certainly not the best at any of them–but I’ve got quite a few:

  1. Mimicry–I mimic accents in general very well, and learn them quickly; I have a knack for pronouncing foreign words well enough that people assume that I speak the language. I can also mimic certain individuals, notably Sean Connery. I find that turning my tongue sideways helps my Ferengi considerably.

  2. I too can perform amazing feats of dexterity with my tongue. Raise you virtual hand if you can use yours as a straw. :stuck_out_tongue:

  3. I have an erratic, near-eidetic memory. It works when it wants to, so I still remember episodes of TV shows from when I was 4 (Maverick, Halloween ep. maybe-vampire jumps off bridge & vanishes) and songs I didn’t like in high school (all 19 verses of “We Didn’t Start the Fire” sometimes get stuck in my head). I also retain enormous amounts of trivia. On occasion, I seem to remember facts that someone nearby knows, but which I don’t recall learning…

  4. I learn the basics of musical instruments quickly and easily, but mastery eludes me.

  5. I can watch people juggle…Ow! Hey! Lay off! Those pins hurt!

  6. I can write unnecessarily long posts. Can’t seem to help it, actually. Frightfully sorry.

On the way into work this morning, I realised that I know all the words to Blur’s Boys and Girls. Moreover, I’ve discovered I can’t get them out of my head. (Girls who want boys who like boys who do girls who do boys like their girls who do girls like their boys, always should be someone you really loooooove…)

i’ll marry you on the condition that you don’t ever sing that boys and girls song, it drove me nuts when it was on the radio constantly, in the clubs everywhere i went dancing, and on my sisters radio everytime i came home from school. blech!

i found i have another talent too
i can stay awake for three days straight and still drive all the way from DC to NYC in one straight run without any hitches.
