My name is Katheryn. I like cats. I have an inferiority complex like you wouldn’t believe, so I’m trying to boost my self-esteem by calling myself “Great” and posting about myself  I don’t know if it’s working yet, though…

I did this in one of the others, put I try to keep it in the public mind so I can change my explanatory sig line–

Ai\ Yue- Ha
was the name I was given in Chinese class. It means “John A.” and is one of the most common Chinese names. The punctuation represents the tone marks.

I answered this one before, but what the hell, all the new people might want to know too. Well, not that the old people gave a rat’s ass. Bastards.

Anyway, Jophiel is the name of one of the seven Archangels according to Dionysis. The name, which can also be spelled Iofiel, Iophiel, Jofiel, Zophiel, and Zofiel, means “beauty of God” and is supposively the angel mentioned in Genesis who drives Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden (which makes Jophiel the first angel mentioned in the Bible).

I selected the name because I am interested in angels in an academic sort of way (I think they’re neat and like learning what people have thought of them through the ages) and so wanted an angel name when I first joined IRC. Most of the obvious ones (Seraphim, Gabriel, Raphael, Archangel… etc) were a battle to get, so I selected Jophiel who was an archangel, but obscure enough that in 5 years I’ve had my nick “stolen” about twice.

“I guess it is possible for one person to make a difference, although most of the time they probably shouldn’t.”

I’m bored now, so I feel its a good time to re-explain my name. Ever hear of a band called Green Jellÿ? They have a song called “Obey the Cow God.” I like that song. I was listening to it while I filled in my info for registration, and thus I was born.

and I don’t have friends in low places, their just motivationally challenged!

…c.c…c.c…

Mine’s from Cervantes’ Don Quixote. His faithful sidekick (and often the unlistened to Voice of Reason) was Sancho Panza. I adopted it as my name in Spanish Class in high school and decided to keep it.

Old + Broad = lack of imagination + reality

BUT I’m only old on the outside so that describes me physically & chronologically while having no noticable relationship to my mental age or state. My youngest offspring turned 25 today and keeps telling me she’s old!

If I can find the energy, maybe I’ll change to something more dramatic and/or arcane.

Some people know a lot more when you tell them something than when you ask them something.

My nick comes from a Tom Jones song “What’s New, Pussycat?” I first saw Tom about 6 ot 7 years ago at a club in NYC called the limelight(transformed from a really cool gothic style cathedral). Well I was hooked on his stage show and voice and have gone to see him at least 20 times since(always throwing my undies onstage) I got to meet him in Atlantic City about 3 years ago, he was eating in the same restaurant I was at with my sisters, so we ordered a round of drinks for his table and he invited us to come say hello.
So, back to the name, I knew i wanted pussycat, but thought it seemed a little to vulgar, so i shortened it-actually i got the idea from an x-men character, Psylocke, that changed the pronunciation, but I liked it better anyway. so, voila. the 90 got added on at hotmail(no significance to the number), apparently, someone already had the nick, so i try to be consistent, if i can’t be psycat, then i’ll be psycat90.

so you found a girl who thinks really deep thoughts. what’s so amazing about really deep thoughts? Tori Amos

You’re probably thinking of Rascal, the story of a boy and his racoon.

Actually I’ve never heard of Sterling North until now ( after a search of Amazon.com ).

Random huh?

Does he still write?

Well, I’m a big neil young fan.
he did an album years and years ago named “zuma”. Strangely, I don’t even own “zuma”, although i’ve heard it, and find it one of his more lackluster albums. but i think the name is pretty cool, so i adopted it for most of my online activities.

Wow! Auraseer’s origin post was the best one yet!

Of course, I had to have several drinks and some Valium in order to reach the right meditative state to read his psychic writing.

You say “cheesy” like that’s a BAD thing.

When I first entered the realm of the Internet, I tried out IRC to see what it was like. To start with, I used the username ‘PigeonMan’ and that was fine - except one day I couldn’t use it, as someone else was already. Which surprised me.

So I chose ‘GuanoLad’ instead, PigeonMan’s sidekick. And since then have used it as my alias forever more - it’s unique. Up till this moment, nobody else has ever used it to my knowledge.

I had been, however, totally unaware that there had already been an infamous ‘ShitBoy’ on this forum… it was a coinkydink.

“To me, socks are like sex. Tons of it about, and I don’t seem to get any.”

My actual name is Chiuly’s Eyepatch.

“Mike” of course is short for Michael. As for “King” … well, since the revolution, I guess it’s just for remembering the good old days.

Mine stands for “Dame Krispin”, but you can call me “DmK”. It was a name from an old RPG character, and I thought it sounded quite perky! Besides, I catch too much flak when I use “Tasslehoff”.

My username is my name. I don’t need and alias, the way that all you subversives & Illegal Aliens do.
(No, Contestant #3; not those kinds of aliens…Sheesh!)

YO-HO, ME HEARTIES! ALL HANDS ON DECK FOR THE MUSICAL BATTLE AT SEA!

Wait a minute, Sealemon. You mean that first I read “Sealy-mon”, then realized that it was actually “Sea-lemon”, and now you’re telling me I was right the first time!!? Aaaaaargh! Next you’re going to tell me that “mangeorge” is really “mange-orge”, just like I read it the first few times, and not “man-george”!

Modest? You bet I’m modest! I am the queen of modesty!

Back when I was on Aol, I used to compete in a Simpsons trivia game. I was really good. My name was Homer7881, because of my birthday. Then it was IIHoMeRII when I was into warez/hacking/pirating. Now it’s just plain ol’ Homer. Unless I’m Evil Homer… bwah hah hah.

Yes, I realize how stupid that last sentence was, but thanks for pointing it out anyway.

We are the children of the Eighties. We are not the first “lost generation” nor today’s lost generation; in fact, we think we know just where we stand - or are discovering it as we speak.

Wow, my last post got emptied. How weird.

The last one was kinda long (or would have been, if it had come through), and I’m not going to retype it. I’ll just say that my username is a literal description of myself, and leave it at that.
