Your worst restaurant experience ever

We’ve had several:

Sitting at a table. The waitress asks if we’re ready to order. We say yes. She turns around and leaves. So do we.

2am or so. Place is practically empty. Unbussed tables, welcome mat crumpled up by the door. We order a hamburger and a chix sandwich. 45 minutes later, there is still no food. The waitress says the cook is new. We point out we’re the only ones there. Again, we walk out.

BBQ place. Food is ordered, takes forever to come out, people who arrive after us are served. Finally, the kids and I get our meal, but not Ivylad. When his comes out, 20 minutes later, it is stone cold. The manager says the waiter is filling in from another store. Not our problem, we point out, and Ivylad’s meal is comped.

On the plus side, Emeril’s at Universal Studios in Orlando was wonderful. The waiter was attentive, our glass were never more than half empty, and the food was promptly delivered and delicious. If you’re ever in Orlando and want a special treat, I can highly recommend Emeril’s.

This isnt really all that bad but i dont really go to all that many restuaunts so… well anyway i was in a famous amos in jax fl and this place was FILTHY im saying flys, dirty floor and sticky table . then the waitress takes forever to ask us about are drinks and when she finallt brings them she gives us the wrong ones and after that she brings those big restuaunt cups with no straw. after that the usual cold food wrong food and way too ling in between.

I went with a business associate to a “Turkish Cuisine” restaurant…not to eat, but to collect a bill. The grease ball who owned this place owed my friend quite a bit of money. Anyway, we were in the kitchen, yelling at this bum, trying to intimidate him into paying up. The kitchen was gross and smelly, kind of like a morgue. But what really turned my guts was that there was a large slab of meat…lamb I think, but it could have been horse for all I know…hanging by a hook/chain from the ceiling, just dangling over the floor. There were about a zillion flys landing on it. Anyway, I saw several employees cutting pieces off this meat, putting on plates, and taking it out to unsuspecting customers. I have a very strong constitution, but even I wanted to puke.
We finally got my friends money and split.

Luckily, that gross pit went out of businesses not long after.

good morning friends,

i have worked in the fire and safety industry for many years. a large part of my job has been to install and service restaurant fire supression systems. these are the “ansul” systems designed to suppress fires in the hood and ductwork over the appliances, and the appliances themselves.

one chinese restaurant wanted me to set up an appointment before doing th ework. i stopped by to talk to the owner at 9:00 am to set an appointment for that afternoon. the kitchen smelled like warm garbage. particularly, there was a man in a corner with a large rack of trays. he would remove a rack full of thawed chicken and remove the bones, cut them up into bite sized pieces, then return the tray and start on the next. the kitchen was well over 90 degrees, and the whole time i watched this guy, he had a cigarette hanging out of the corner of his mouth.

i returned at 2:00 that afternoon to do my job, and that guy was still there, same rack, same chickens, but a different cigarette. i wonder what the chinese word for salmonella is?
