It’s me. Lived in that apartment longer than any of the current neighbors. Quiet and polite. Sits out in the driveway and smokes and reads books sometimes. What’s he building in there?
They seem like a nice couple couple, but they keep really odd hours. Several times a week, they head out the door just before four in the morning. Two sets of footsteps go out, and then 20 minutes later, one set returns – probably his. Their downstairs neighbor swears they have a couple of pygmy elephants up there, but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen him washing a litterbox or two, so it’s probably cats, not elephants. That might explain why we can sometimes hear her shouting “WE WILL NOT TOLERATE BAD BEHAVIOR!”
They’re a nice couple - seem pretty normal.
It’s nice that the woman found a man to marry her after her husband blew his head off. Tragic that. Blood all over the town’s gazebo - at least they were quick to clean that up.
It’s cute how he fusses over that rock garden of his - weeding and watering. He really should pay more attention to his grass, though. For a while, there, we thought he had lost his job - the van stopped leaving every morning for work. Then we realized he was riding his motorcycle and leaving from the back driveway instead.
Don’t see the kids much - we know they share time with his ex-wife but even when they’re over, they’re not out much. Gee, when we were kids we played outside all the time. Must be them darn video games keeping them in.
They really should learn to close their bedroom blinds, though. They’re not the kind of people we’d like to see changing for bed in the evenings.
I’m not even sure what the living situation is there. First, it was one guy living by himself, and there was a girl who spent the night there quite a bit. Then, there was a second girl who started staying over and later moved in. Maybe she married the guy, but the first girl still comes over now and then - I’ve even seen her let herself in when no one else is home. And then, a year or so after the second girl moved in, a third girl seems to have moved in as well. I say “seems” because she’s been there a couple of years, but she’s still got out-of-state plates on her car, from halfway across the country. Oh, and a little while after the third girl moved in, the second girl basically disappeared for almost a year. You’d only see her once every other weekend or so. She may have been a shut-in, but there was a month or two there where she must have completely moved out. But now she’s in and out every day, like a normal person.
It’s hard to say what they’re like, though - they don’t have any kids or dogs as far as I can tell, so you never really see them “out”. At first I thought the third girl must be a drinker - for about a year after she moved in, their recycling was all beer and wine bottles, but now I don’t see any. They’re not loud or dirty or anything, but then again, they do some weird stuff. Almost every morning, the guy leaves the garage, then drives around the block and back through the alley past the garage again. A couple of mornings, I’ve seen them bring the newspaper in… and then put it back out a few minutes later. Then the other day, one of the women kept coming out the front door, walking down to the sidewalk, standing there for a few seconds, and then going back in. Like, ten times. I also noticed recently that they have what looks like a camera in their front window. There’s a big playground right across the street, so that’s a little creepy. And last weekend, I saw that same woman driving slowly around the neighborhood, and jumping out to take pictures of houses.
Maybe they’re spies.
You know that big house down the street? The one that used to have the nice pastor and his family? Yeah, the one with the 6 bedroom and the 5 bathroom.
We saw the people that bought it. They were working in the yard when we walked by, so we stop to chat. Turns out they don’t have ANY kids. It’s just the 2 of them in that HUGE house, and the lights never on in the living room. Then every couple of weekends, there will be 4 or 5extra cars in their driveway. Do you think they are having orgies in there?
I’ll do two, one as my parent’s place, and one as mine.
She’s brown, I don’t give it a second thought. Her car though - what’s she doing in this building with a BMW? He seems quiet enough, although always with a stern look on his face. They’re always going to the grocery store - who needs to go to the store 4 days a week? They often return sweaty, she in bike shorts, pounding up the stairs. Every Friday night they have only male friends over that are loud as hell coming in, but pretty quiet after they get inside. They always have the landlord coming over, fixing things. Where are they going nearly every weekend, and why are they carting laundry baskets around if there’s laundry in the building?
First of all, that house with pillars is haunted. The parents have different last names and he’s dark looking. They drive nice cars, but his is always changing. I always see him cutting brush and small trees, sometimes at odd hours. Is he a terrorist? He’s older than her. She’s always walking this evil pit-bull looking dog, talking to it sweetly. It never, ever barks - who’s heard of a dog that doesn’t bark? He always goes up to people and wants to be petted. I heard he killed a neighbor’s cat. The police are always at their house, who knows what for. She’s always in the yard doing work, dirt up to her elbows - doesn’t someone that rich have gardeners? The son used to mow the lawn out front, but ever since he got hit by that truck going to the country club, he’s never out there no more. The younger boy is always walking everywhere, sweating through his clothes - can’t somebody drive him places?
That girl… well, she must be in her mid twenties or so. A little hefty, too. She lives with two boys, one of them has the same last name as her… but she’s always kissing the other one. Maybe she’s got some sort of swinger thing going on? I don’t think that other hefty one (the one who has the same last name as her) is her brother… I mean, he could be, but he’s got much darker skin than her…
What the hell is he doing in there? (That HUGE garage) He obviously doesn’t have a job, cause he wanders around the yard in his underware in the morning with a gun and plays LOUD music till 2am, but how does he afford all those cars and motorcycles? And whats with the strange 5 gal. buckets and glass bottles with liquid going back and forth from the house to the garage? And for the sake of Christ! Would it kill him to take drum lessons?
He’s either a meth cook or in Witness Protection!
Nope. Just a regular “semi-retired” guy with nothing better to do in the morning than shoot at rabbits that eat my plants. Do a little cuttin’ and weldin’ in the garage, play drums, darts, brew and drink a little beer, rock out till the wee hours. Use my money wise, always buy used and hardly ever sell anything. You can amass quite a collection with those guidelines.
No drugs and no shady background. But I am a shitty drummer!
I’m pretty sure that house (points) is a commune.
The two of them moved in last summer, a brother and sister. Both are probably in their early twenties. They both seem pretty normal, but the girl is definately more normal than he is. He works, as he leaves every afternoon (dressed up) and comes home just before midnight. I’ve seen him outside smoking in a graduation gown before. I’ve also seen him with a metal detector. Last December, there was a suit of armor sitting outside their door for a day. He always takes out the trash late at night (sometimes as late as four in the morning, and handed it directly to the garbage men.) They both get a lot of packages in the mail, usually large ones. I don’t know what that’s about. Saturday they were taking in the groceries, and left their door open, so I looked in. The apartment was full of odd things. Crap things. A mannequin in a thong, a full sized skeleton, a carousel horse, the suit of armor, and a bunch of hubcaps on the wall. Earlier today I heard him talking about buying a Pepsi machine and phone booth.
The people in 3F are strange–and I think the guy might be a polygamist or something. If he is, he’s doing it wrong. He lives with two women, but I never see either one of them go downstairs to the basement to do laundry. It’s always him, lugging the basket up and down the stairs. He folds the clothes, too, while he’s waiting for the rest to dry! He’s also the only one who collects the mail and who comes in with groceries. He’s nice, though. He always has the time to stop and chat, or to help if somebody has something heavy. Really, I’ve gotten to know him quite well–but those women he lives with! They never socialize with anybody in the building, they never go to the parties, they never speak to anybody on the elevator. They won’t even make eye contact! I don’t know why that nice young man puts up with them. Between you and me, they seem like real B-I-T-C-H-E-S.
