YouTube creator payment amounts

I’m not making sense of how much money these creators get. I’ve seen discussions of how some creators are getting as little as $2 per thousand views, and YT takes half. To be somewhat conservative, I made that $4/thousand, which is $2/thousand actually paid.

Dude Perfect has about 600 million views in the past year. At that rate, they made $1.2 million gross, but they’re supporting five families (maybe 4) on this, with expenses, including a big office/play area rental. They also seem to be doing pretty well for themselves. I know they take sponsorships, but I’m missing something still, like the size of the sponsorship money, or the rate they’re getting. Are they beating $4 because of the length of the videos? If they’re clearing $6/thousand, with YT taking half, then they’re grossing $360,000 each, but that’s before expenses and taxes. Then we put in the built in ads, and they clear $200K each personally?

Mr. Beast doesn’t seem to add up to me, either. He gives away a million dollars based on 5 videos. Even if each gets 40 million views, at $8 per view, with YT taking half, that’s $800k to him in the end, and he loses money. I’m missing something.
