The past few months I’ve noticed that Youtube videos are stuttering horribly. This afternoon it seems like it takes 30 seconds to stream 5 seconds of content. It’s not contention on my line because if I open iPlayer (BBC online content delivery) it streams beautifully at far higher resolutions, and the torrent-based download option will max out my 8-meg line in no time. Is Youtube struggling with bandwidth issues? Is it a geographical thing?
I’ve noticed this recently also. YouTube videos used to stream just fine, and now most of the time I just pause them, turn the should down, go do something else while they load, and THEN watch. Otherwise it’s stop start stop start stop start . . .
