Youtube's Kutiman takes on Zep's Black Dog

Clip here.

Kutiman (wiki link) is this guy who takes “found” clips on youtube and edits them into a single piece of music. In this case, he samples the hundreds of clips out there of folks performing Zep’s song Black Dog.

Really fascinating and fun - hope you enjoy.

that was freaking awesome

I about choked when I saw the clip of a group playing that song in a church :stuck_out_tongue:

Also noted this bit on the page containing the video:

“… the power of this well-crafted song and Jimmy Page’s timeless licks…”

I suppose the writer may have been referring to the guitar solo, but it’s worth noting that the main riff of this song, as well as most Zep songs based on a distinctive riff, was the work of John Paul Jones. I don’t have a link at hand, but I read an interview where JPP said he came up with most of those “riff-based” songs, while Page was responsible for most of the chord-based, bluesy songs.

sigh Bass player always gets overlooked…

Headbanging Grover + mouthful of soda = laptop troubles.
