Zaha Hadid dead at 65

The first female recipient of the Pritzker Prize in Architecture died earlier at the age of 65.

Her architecture opened up some interesting debates about experimental vs. practical design in my first-year classes. She designed numerous spaces and buildings that were never constructed but she wasn’t only interested in the experimental. Her only design that I have experienced in person is the Contemporary Art Center in Cincinnati and it was an enjoyable and interesting space.
