Benchmark software shhh it's a secret

I purchased some utility software that runs benchmark tests on my computer. The software license says it's illegal for me to post or tell anyone the results of the benchmarks. What the heck is with that?

Maybe it'e because you could tell people a Pentium 90 doesn't really run at 90 mhz and such, the companies know that and round to the nearest whole number (sometimes up sometimes down) but some reactionary types would freak out.
