Genius scientists and their stupid inventions

I was reading today about a group of so-called "scientists" who came up with a cure for the ever-present plumber's crack. The cure=let's add three inches to the length of the standard t-shirt. Are you kidding me? How long have we had to endure the agony that is plumber's crack? And they have just now stumbled upon this breakthrough in technology. Just think we could have all been millionaires for coming up with and marketing a special "plumber's version" of the age-old t-shirt. Damn.

Heh. That reminds me of a joke about what I believe are called hip-hugger or low-cut jeans:

"What? How can they say that they just came out? My plumber's been wearing them for years!"*

Oops, that should be "quoted from", not "courtesy of".

I'd buy that sort of t-shirt. Most of my t-shirts are too big, but I have to buy the larger size to get it a length that I want.

I'm a slightly overweight tall guy in the U.S... how could that be so rare that I can't find shirts that fit well?

I have a problem with T-shirts as well. I'm extremely long-waisted. (I'm only a bit over 5'11", but sitting down, I'm taller than many people 6'5"...I only have a 30" inseam, the rest is waist). Having my height stretched out over my middle is a real pain for some shirts, especially some 'nice' t-shirts or non dress shirts. They fit great originally, but when they shrink a bit, they are still fine in the shoulders and waist, but they're very short, sometimes coming just barely to the top of my jeans.

I'd love if all shirts were made about 2" longer.

Well, the article I read didn't indicate that they were "scientists" -- pretty much manufacturers/entrepreneurs as I recall. Andfrankly, it's rather a clever idea and the product will sell. So it's stupid how?

Heck, I wish I had YOUR problem - I'm 6'7" with a 32" inseam

Those T-shirts sound great!

I have the same problem (that is, the problem of t-shirts that come untucked constantly if they've been washed/shrunk, not the problem of showing asscrack to the world)

Give a few of the threads here recently, I'm expecting someone to post about the new Abercrombie and Fitch thongs for plumbers. [shudder]

Holy crap, Rico. That's insane! And I thought my family was longwaisted. You've definitely got the bragging rights. How do you find shirts that fit?

Big and tall shops - and I have to order a size larger than what I usually wear.

Yeah, it's a hassle, but my 5' 2" wife loves the fact that her legs are only 3" shorter than mine.
