Car Sunroof

Why is it that the sunroof on my new Honda only closes to the halfway point when I hold the button to close it? I have to release and push the button a second time to close it the rest of the way. I'm told by various friends that their cars (of various makes) do the same thing. Power windows don't stop half way. I don't get it.

Why not take it to Honda service department and ask them?

It does that on my Jaguar to reduce wind noise. At the partial open position, there's not as much wind noise at speed as when the sunroof is fully open

My old Nissan Maxima used to do that. I always figured that it was a safety feature to keep any appendages from inadvertantly becoming pinched in the closing sunroof.

I'm sure this is a design feature and not a technical problem with your car. Try reading the sunroof section of the owner's manual.

My Mitsubishi did the same thing. I can imagine that it would be a pain if it started to rain unexpectedly, but since it never did, I didn't worry about it.
