Puzzle: Windows of my Honda

You know how you can roll down the windows on your vehicle to wipe away the morning dew, etc? (Well, I always thought everyone did this, anyhow!) Now, this should be a no-brainer, but it’s puzzling how my Honda windows roll back up in the same condition in which they rolled down! There is a gasket at the base of the window, and my windows don’t leak. It seems like a very tight tolerance to me, and yet…how can this gasket NOT manage to wipe the window as it rolls down - passing through it!!!

Maybe some Wise Dopers (or Honda Exec.) will come by to reveal the secret?

My windows do the same thing. In my case I have observed that once you start to roll the window down, it moves back slightly and no longer makes contact with the seal. As a workaround, I simply push on the inside of the window to force it against the seal as I roll it down.

Just wondering, Daffy, do you have power windows, and… say, how’s Bugs doin’ these days?

Thanks
