OK fine…How do you feel about current drug education in public schools? Do you see it making a difference in the frequency of use of recreational drugs? Do you feel that drug education properly prepares you for situations which involve illicit drugs?

Its pretty much a joke. Of all the times I’ve used or come in contact with drugs, I’ve never thought about anything I heard from a teacher. I’ve never done more than a smoke a little weed, or drink a little, though. I was just thinking today that up until this year, when I started running with a different crowd, that I never knew half of alot of things ever went on.
Weed is definitely the biggest drug in my school, hands down. Pills are probably a far away second, and then maybe ecstacy or coke. I know maybe 3 people out of like 1500 that do heroin. Thats more of an upper class thing.
I’m all over the board, from almostindie bands like Trail of Dead and Tomahawk to Tupac and Bob Marley. You can definitely see a distinction in the music listened to by different groups. You have your goth kids listening to slipknot and cutting themselves, your regular kids rocking out to the disposable rock of the moment (Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, etc) and then your wiggas and niggas playin’ tha fitty cent. I saw a guy walking through the hall with a boom box playing ‘In Da Club’ like a week ago. ‘How to Rob’ is a way better song though.

Drug education? Whats that? If you mean something like DARE, i dont remember a thing it taught us, only thing i remember is drugs can look like candy, with the board of candy and drugs.
Personally i get all my information from reputable websites(that dont sound right!) But in my area, the most used drugs are weed, ecstasy, shrooms, painkillers, and sherm/pcp. Then meth and coke fill the bottom. These are the common drugs around my age group, 17+
