Ted Bundy's old house gets torn down

The old house where Ted Bundy stayed while he was in Tallahassee has finally been torn down. It had been gutted by a huge fire last year, but until this week, it still lingered there on College Avenue, standing behind a big-ass oak tree in the front yard (the house, in fact, was called “The Oak” in Bundy’s day because of that tree).

Sometimes I’d drive past the house on my way to work. A few mornings ago, it was still standing, but today, I saw it was no longer there. Only a pile of lumber remains.

The oak tree still stands. As does the Chi Omega sorority house around the corner.
