What spam? That link leads to the illustrious [rolling thunder]Straight Dope[/rolling thunder], one of the most addictive sites on the 'net, populated by all sorts of ogres, trolls, elves, sock monkeys, policital junkies, lurkers, and other manner of fantasy creatures.

UB changed the link. My guess is it had previously gone to a MMORPG site and each gave the OP's character more money or experience or whatever. Wouldn't be the first such link to be posted here (and subsequently removed).

My WAG is it's the Spam Game or whatever they call it.

There is no character per se. Just a counter that tracks your account and how many hits your website gets.

The goal is simple; get people to click your link. That's it.

The 'players' who fall for this scam then proceed to go all over the net and blatantly lie about what their link is, then post it. SOMEBODY will click on it, and they get another point.

Such fun.
