IE animated globe... I want it back!

I have a laptop computer running Win2K Pro... it's a great little computer, with one annoying thing that I can't figure out:

The company that manufactured the comp hijacked the top bar in Internet Explorer and replaced the little spinning globe icon (the one that spins when you click on a link before the new website comes up) with their own static icon. This is annoying as I'm quite used to glancing at that spinning icon to insure that I actually have clicked a link before I switch windows while I surf. An excellent example of why I do this is the SDMB; I click on a thread I want to read, and sometimes it takes 2 or 3 minutes for the thread to open up, in the meantime I click over to CNN, etc. and do some reading. I hate it when I come back to the SDMB and find that I missed the link due to faulty clicking... so I glance at the spinning icon to see that, in fact, IE is working on getting to the thread before I switch windows...

Now, I'm pretty sure that the new, static, icon the the computer company put there resides in the registry somewhere, so 2 questions for those more enlightened than me:

1) Where can I find the static icon in the registry (assuming that I'm correct in my guess as to location)?
2) How can I replace it with an animated icon (doesn't have to be the regular IE icon... in fact, I can make my own little animation to stick in there!)?

Thanks in advance all!

Try something like this:

You can Google for "remove Internet Explorer branding".

Perfect!

Thank you, guys.

I'll try that after dinner, and see if it works!
