Let’s do it again!
So, calling all Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and other close-by Dopers: come on down! (We’ll even let Oklahoma send a few this way–but we’ll have to screen them first. ;)) The last few times we got together were, what seemed like, the hottest parts of summer; this time, let’s try for a not-so-hottest-part of summer. I promise that auntie em and I’ll even stay longer (or we won’t–whichever you’ll believe so you’ll drop on by). Right now I’m thinking the end of May or the beginning of June–somewhere around there so that any of our college or high school Dopers will be out of school and won’t have to worry about finals. Whatcha’ think?
Oh yeah: I’ll also be posting this on the UnaBoard and in LiveJournal–in our brand-spankin’-new KC Dopefest Community! So you’ll have plenty of chances to let me know how much you want to meet me and auntie em in person.
I missed the last one, it snuck past me while I wasn’t looking. This year I wanna be there! My husband is forcing me to go camping the last weekend of May though, can we make it for June please? I’ll claim I want to meet you and I really do wanna meet auntie em !

I understand. The only reason I went to our wedding was because auntie em was there. I didn’t consider myself enough of a draw.
And I have no problem with June. (The month or the Cleaver.) With most districts getting out at the end of May, I figured that a lot of Dopers would reccomend a summer meet-up.
Oh, could it please be June? Then I wouldn’t have to miss like last time, due to having to teach Sunday School. And I need to get a weekend nailed down, so I can be absolutely firm with my boss and tell him I CAN’T do any Saturday events that weekend.
June sounds good to me; after all, I kinda suspect that June would work out better for most people, anyway. Also, we might consider meeting on a Saturday, too; this way the Dopers who have to travel don’t have to rush home right away.
I know I said Saturday, but it’s possible that one poster might be able to come as long as we have it on a Sunday; otherwise, because of his Sabbath observance, he won’t be able to make it on a Friday night or the vast majority of Saturday.
I’ll go, provided I can get a ride from someone…somehow…who lives in/near Wichita…I don’t have a car! But I really, really, really want to go!!!
I should have internet access soon, if my stuff ever arrives. I check about once a week at the library. My email address is in my profile, if anyone thinks they can swing by wichita or has any ideas how I could get to this thing, I am eager to go!

Any time you guys choose should work for me - We do have vacation plans for the end of June, though.
I’m game. I’ll probably be roadtripping into the Dakotas on Memorial Day weekend, and doing recreational trespassing with an Alaskan in the Twin Cities sometime mid-June, but otherwise my schedule is clear. I’m a heathen, so I’ve got no problems with a Sunday.
Yeppers. Just yesterday (or late Saturday night–one can never remember when the weekend days just blend to each other like that) I sent e-mails to those who have participated in our threads/'fests in the past. As long as their e-mails were available–and as long as they hadn’t already taken part of this thread or had been semi-spoken for.
So, if you didn’t receive an e-mail from me it’s not because I don’t secretly love you. It’s because I made a mistake and probably don’t deserve your love after all.
How’s the date work for you, misstee and Wikkit? June 13th is kinda around the middle of the month, Wikkit, so I wasn’t sure if that was too close for your comfort. (Besides, if cars keep breaking down on the way back to Iowa… :p)
