Any of you Kansas City, St. Louis, Topeka, Wichita, Upper-Oklahoma, Lower-Nebraska, etc… (read: surrounding area) Dopers wanna come out and play together? We can meet in as a centralized location as possible to remain convenient (I vote Kansas City, MO…but only because I’m lazy) for the members. We can take pictures (as in photographs, please don’t actually steal anything), experiment with tattoos and throw around a few jarts. And eat. And mingle. You know, group stuff.

But, depending on who’s going, and if I can get someone to road trip with me, I may be able to make it to KC. Depending on the time frame of course.
Could you expound, please? Like, for instance FrankenCheese? That kind of electrical/playing god experimentation?
Or maybe a romantic meshing of cheese and cottage cheese, as in a college, “I was in my experimental stage” experiment?
Or do we need beakers? Flasks? Bunsen burners? I’d hate to not come prepared.
Not sure, Crunchy Frog. I was thinking maybe the beginning or after the end of August because I have a family reunion August 22nd. Unless we want to rent the place next to my reunion and steal the food. None of us know one another anyway, so it wouldn’t be hard to fit in.
Since you and Auntie Em are the only ones to respond so far, do you have a time-frame that’d work best for you?
Never mind. I’m an idiot. How about any time after August 3rd? That’s when the reunion is. Sheesh. No wonder I’m often voted out of the family.
I’m from Topeka too. I’d be interested, and I’m not set on any particular time frame. If a consensus starts to build I’m sure I would go along with it, unless it was too impossible.

The weekend would be easiest for me, as I work M-F, but if it was an afternoon or evening thing that would be doable. Is that a word?
North Topekan checking in. Never been to any 'Fests yet, so I don’t know what to expect. Gratuitous nudity/violence/cheese have never really been my thing but I’ll bring the chips and a lawn chair to watch. Is family taboo? My urchins can be real terrors if they’re not afraid of you. Mondays and Tuesdays are open for me.

Baker - Weekends are best, but could do an evening.

Holy meth labs, SkipMagic! Three Topekans on the SDMB? Didn’t think there were that many ejumacated people in T-town. Seriously, I work at a casino north of here. If you wanna arrange this in Topeka I could take a few hours off work if everbody is cool with a casino. Wouldn’t have to spend all day, maybe just end the DopeFest there. I can swing a Saturday late afternoon/evening or Sunday any time as well, but I’ll have to bring the demonpigs, er, kids on those days as Horsewife works those days. As long as you don’t invite anybody named Phelps. 
Hey, Hey, HEY! Meth labs are strictly the province of those nice druggies in Independence, Missouri. At least it’s been called the “Meth Capitol” before. Let’s try not to hijack the only thing Independence is known for. (Well, there’s the Truman home thingy and the RLDS thingy, but why let reality get in the way of a good meth reference?)
Sadly enough for my own inherent laziness, seeing as that the majority of the Dopers who’ve responded seem to claim residency in Topeka, I was eventually going to suggest we move it there. Damn you. It’s not set in stone, of course, but it’s an idea.
What d’ya’ guys think?
P.S.: Horseflesh, I loved Time Bandits ever since I was a wee one. In fact, it was on one of the local channels recently. Great name!

Now, let’s say we do move it to Topeka (my laziness gene is rebelling, people–you should see the drool and the shaking hands going on over here; and I’m not even on a date!), Shannyobanny and Horseflesh have conflicting schedules. Would either of you be willing to possibly change your availability?
As for Crunchy Frog, Truth and the Unnamed One, would a trip to Topeka work out? (Crunchy Frog, I know it’s getting further away from St. Louis, but it seems like a lot of Topekans think they can take the world over.)
