I had chinese last night, from a place called star house, or star something. It had increadible Ginger Beef; the chinese food was also good, but that is to be expected because they had a bunch of chinese people working in the kitchen.
I hereby declair that Ginger Beef is my favourite food.
Without even looking, I can tell you’re in Western Canada. Don’t ever leave, if you ever want Ginger Beef again. I love the stuff, and I miss it horribly, but I’ve found a recipe that works passably.
Oh my GOD I want some now now now!
For the record, Ginger Beef was first created by a chef at a Chinese restaurant in Calgary. It isn’t actually a Chinese dish. I didn’t find that out until I moved away from Alberta and couldn’t find it anywhere.
Are you serious that there is no ginger beef out side of western canada!!! Where do you live. I don’t think I want to go to an area that is so uncivilized that it doesn;t have Ginger Beef.
How could I possibly deny such a sweetly-worded request?
It can be found here: “Quest for Ginger Beef”
It’s not as sweet as you’ll normally get in restaurants. And how did someone in the south develop a taste for it, anyway?
I don’t remember when or how I became interested in Oriental cuisine. Beef and ginger go together well.
We don’t eat fired chicken all the time. Although I did find a mustard barbecue sauce that is the best I’ve tasted.
I guess fried chicken is a Southern thing? I wasn’t asking because I thought you all ate fried chicken and catfish all the time, but because it’s so unusual for someone not from Alberta to have eaten Ginger Beef.
Actually, I had trained the chefs (heh) at a restaurant my friend owns in Yellowknife on just exactly how I liked my Ginger Beef. Edward makes the best Ginger Beef north of 60, now - if not the only.
