Welcome to the new IMHO forum, also known as the Not-So-Great Debates. This forum is for the minor questions that have been cluttering up the Great Debates, the small debates that have started up in the MPSIMS, and all topics about chocolate.
All questions are welcome. If it gets too heavy, I’ll kick it over to the GD, and if it gets nasty, I’ll kick it over to the BBQ Pit.
Tarzan. Because (a) it was the first real film to be able to realize Burrough’s character on the screen, and (b) Glen Keane proved himself to be superhuman in his ability to animate Lord Greystoke.
Cool! Thanks! Can you give me a personal welcome? Or does money have to be involved for that? No, of course not, you’re an honest moderator ::quietly walks away, leaving a suit case full of twenty dollar bills on the floor::
I think “Dinosaur” is the best Disney movie of all time, even though I haven’t seen it. Disney says it’s an instant classic, and Disney never lies, so it must be true.
I don’t know about the BEST Disney film, but I did enjoy “Anastasia”, because I’ve read quite a bit about the last Romanov family and the Anna Anderson controversy (fascinating topic, by the way).
Even though it was not meant to be serious history, what happened in the movie was the way I really wished things had turned out. I guess it touched me because there’s still a bit of kid in me. (A BIT??)
One thing that put me off about “Anastasia” was the portrayal of Rasputin as evil. In real life, I think he was a detriment to the Royal Family, and was too busy with sexual gratification and abusing his influence to think of much else, but there are at least some partially redeeming aspects to his character (he genuinely seemed to be a man of peace) and there’s certainly no evidence to support the idea that he was malicious to the Romanovs in any way (other than being an albatross).
Sorry for the hijack.
(peaches8–there, I’ve revived the thread. Now go search the board and revive one I’VE killed!!)
