Supplemental 6@6 Poll #41: Post 6 Your Fave Chemical Bros Tracks PLUS The SDMB Charts

Subtitled: The gex gex search party thread. Though there will probably be a Prodigy poll in a few years, don’t hold your breath for an 808 State thread anytime soon. Fire up the iPod, get your CD’s off the shelf or start up your computer’s jukebox program and let’s get to voting.

First: The Who’s, What’s, Where’s & Why’s of the Supplemental Poll
In an attempt to squeeze as many bands in the shortest amount of time possible, as a regular feature, The Tuesday 6 @ 6 Polls include a Headliner poll and a Supplemental poll. This Chemical Brothers poll, like the featured Cure and the Cult headliner poll threads will be closed and tallied 7 days from today, Tuesday September 28, 2004 at or about 6PM EDT. Results from all the polls will be posted a few minutes later on that same day in Week #42’s featured Ray Charles 6 @ 6 Poll.

I didn’t include the album from which the track came from. I’ll try to post the whole spreadsheet up on doteasy.com and link it sometime in the future.

Third: The Poll & How it Works
It’s simple enough, post your 6 favorite songs by the artist. Personal observations, opinions, liner notes, comments and the like are always welcome but are in no means required. If you specify Live version, it will be noted, but tallied together with the studio version of the same title. My only request of you is to please try to be as accurate as possible when naming your favorite tracks.

Lastly: The Supplemental Poll Artist of the Week
I know what you’re thinking, ‘Shut the hell up and get on with the poll already damnit!’ So, without further ado: gex gex’s Chemical Brothers poll.

My Chemical Brothers Selections

Here are my 6 favorite tracks by The Chemical Brothers
  • 6) Elektrobank – 1997
  • 5) Setting Sun – 1997
  • 4) Song To The Siren - 1995
  • 3) Get Yourself High - 2003
  • 2) Block Rockin Beats - 1997
  • 1) Hey Boy Hey Girl - 1999
(Note: You don’t see The Golden Path listed – not that it’s awful - it just doesn’t sound like them)

Can these electro trip hoppers knock Elvis Costello’s “Watching the Detectives” off the top vote getter position? When pigs fly. You’ll find the answer and much more next week, same Eastern Standard Time, same web address.

Thanking you all in advance. I’m sure to some of you at the other Cure and Cult polls. Have a great week!

One-and-a-half poll requests: Since the Ds are approaching, could we do something on Death Cab for Cutie/The Postal Service? And can we add Whiskeytown to the poll on Ryan Adams?

But, for polling purposes, I'll give you this
list, which you can include if
you feel it's permissable under the rules:

(in no particular order)

1. Block Rockin' Beats
2. Hey Boy, Hey Girl
3. Setting Sun
4. Come With Us
5. Music: Response
6. Under The Influence (Only cause of the
absolutely sick bass drop in it)

Like you, I like Golden Path, but it really does
sound more Flaming Lips-y.
Consider it tabulated, I'll post your Cure picks in a second.

Serious question? In Super Mario 64, Mario jumps into every new level shouting "Here we GO!"

Heh, thanks. I only played that Super Mario game a couple of times when it first came out, so I'd forgotten that. (now, the ones on the orginal Nintendo on the other hand...) I just knew the song made me think of it I actually wondered if it had to do with Mario Kart.
