Credit Report Questions

Using an online service I noticed an error with th information from one of my old accounts. I contacted the creditor over the phone and they verified that what I saw was wrong and they said they would correct it. I received a letter from them with correct info but every report I pull still has the wrong informationn from Equifax. What is the best way of getting this resolved should I fax Equifax a copy of the letter I received?
