Something that would enable us to find (or at least see on the highway and excitedly point and wave at) one another IRL? If not an official one, has anyone ever thought of making some with, say, “Hi, Opal!” on them or something? Anybody interested in such a thing? Just curious.
Heck, I’d buy one. Lately I’ve been feeling that my “2 + 2 = 5 for extremely large values of 2” and “I (heart) Calculus” t-shirts don’t make me seem geeky enough. I think a shirt devoted to an ecclectic internet message board filled to the brim with intelligentsia might just do the trick.

Jonathan Chance did have me make him a “3. Hi Opal” shirt a while back, though, which I have seen him wear at dopefests.

Close, but not quite. That’s the official Straight Dope merchandise. What’s being asked about here is Straight Dope Message Board merchandise. Perhaps one or two Board-themed items could be added to the existing Straight Dope store?
I know that. I’m just saying there IS SD stuff. That was more of a “there’s not board stuff, but there is SD stuff” than “hey, dumbass, HERE’s the stuff.” 
I expect they’d sell quite a few of them… I know I’d buy an SDMB shirt.
I’d also like to voice a request for some SDMB stuff in the SD store.
I know that this may be too tricky logistically, but an optional increased membership fee that included a t-shirt and bumpersticker or some such would be cool with me too.
I think you should have a lot more images available, such as those cartoons by Slug.
Or slogans without pictures.
I’ve wanted a tee, but the bag-headed guy is just too strange to envision wearing. (To the uninitiated it doesn’t read as “I’m reclusive” as much as “I’m ugly”. And the smacking of somebody doesn’t evoke “I’m an intellectual”.)
Or invite the artists among us to offer pictures.
The CafePress store allows any number of images without setup fees, and you get a bit off every item sold. And without effort you can add any items that might appeal especially to Dopers, such as mouse pads or lunch boxes.
Actually, I went to the Sun Devil Marching Band page, and they don’t seem to have T-shirts, either.
I once volunteered to make bumper stickers and was given an OK by administration (though this was a while ago). It was met with like, four people saying, “hey, that’d be neat” and acute apathy by most everyone else, so I haven’t bothered. That and I’m lazy. If enough people say they’d want them, I’d probably run it by the admins again.
A Cafepress shop would be nice, but I’d imagine that even the minimal upkeep after they got it up would be more than the Reader would be willing to take on.
I’ll second that. All props to Slug but that’s just not for me. A plain old “Straight Dope” or “SDMB” logo would be perfect, IMHO.
