It seems that it would have been big news; the media loves to latch onto stories like that during big news opportunities.
None that I can tell but I didn’t look too hard either. The youngest I’ve seen on the list below is 21 but it is a long list. Look through it if you like…

Here’s the CNN link of victims:
http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2001/memorial/lists/by-name/index.html
At the bottom of that page, there’s a link “age”. Based upon its accuracy, about 10 children died, all passengers of the planes.
True…but the magnitude of 9/11 was so vast and unprecedented, there was no “need” for the media to focus on families killed. Anyway, a quick perusal of Whack-A-Mole’s link reveals the following names:
American Flight 77:
Bernard Curtis Brown, 11, Washington, D.C.
Asia Cottom, 11, Washington, D.C.
Rodney Dickens, 11, Washington, D.C.
Zoe Falkenberg, 8, University Park, Md.
Dana Falkenberg, 3, of University Park, Md.
United Flight 175:
David Reed Gamboa Brandhorst, 3, Los Angeles, Calif.
Christine Lee Hanson, 2, Groton, Mass.
Juliana Valentine McCourt, 4, New London, Conn.
American Flight 11/United Flight 93: No passengers under 20 listed.
I did not check the Pentagon/WTC lists.
Considering that the WTC is a place of business and the Pentagon is a military installation and that the attacks occured on a Tuesday morning when school was in session, it is doubtful that there would have been very many kids in the buildings to begin with.

Actually, I think September 11 was the first day of school in New York, so some people who would have been in the WTC were taking their children to school, so their lives were spared.
This is true. I vividly recall seeing the story of one guy who worked for Cantor Fitzgerald (ok…fuzzy on the details of who he worked for but think that is it) who had dropped his kid off at school and was late getting into the office and watched the planes hit the buildings as he drove in (IIRC the entire staff of Cantor Fitzgerald was killed so had he been there on time he would have been dead as well).
No clue on how many people were saved by taking their kids to school but at least one made it as a result of that.
Next time I hear some moron claiming that no Jews were in the towers, maybe I’ll set him straight.
It Was The Children! They Were Behind It!
Heck, at least it’s a better argument.
Heh. I like it!!
Maybe they were behind that pesky Moon Landing Hoax as well!
Good point - what boy would be called ‘Buzz’ beyond the age of twelve?
There were at least two daycare centers in the complex, one in 7 and one in (I think) 4. Happily, all the children were successfully evacuated prior to the collapse of 1 and 2 and the subsequent destruction of the other buildings.
There was a mall located directly beneath the towers. There must have been some children there. Come to think about it, they never talk about victims in the mall.
The malls were evacuated almost immediately, since the whole complex communicated with both of the towers and the lobbies of the several other buildings that were destroyed. Even the homeless were hustled out of there. The cops and firemen needed the space, and there were many many exits from the complex, some across the street. I do remember that an employee of the Amish Market store was killed by falling debris, though.
The subways didn’t stop there and the PATH trains came in only to evacuate people, the passengers from Jersey not being allowed to get off at all. Nobody died in mass transit even though a few stations were destroyed and one, Cortlandt St. on the 1 train, remains closed to this day. Very few people died in the other collapsed buildings, like 7 and 5 WTC, and the Vista Hotel.
Although we’d rather not deal with it, the number of children killed in US attacks on Afghanistan are likely at least in the hundreds, with more than that maimed:
That may be, but that’s not the question. The question is “Were any children killed in the 9/11 attacks?”
If you want to start a debate, start a thread in Great Debates.
If you want to post in General Questions, stick to the topic.

… and we *never ever ever * stray from the precise techincal parameters of any given question in any thread in GQ?
In any event, assuming that the attacks in Afghanistan were in direct response to the 9/11 attacks here, I’m sure that there are people who would argue (although I’m not necessarily one of those people) that the 9/11 attackers are partly to mostly responsible for civilian deaths in Afghanistan, and this would make my response in that valid construct germaine to the OP. Ironically it’s probably the people most miffed that I’d point this out who necessarily would have to argue that.
Politics and GQ don’t go together well. We are not going to get into politics in GQ.
Those “people who would argue” are invited to do so in GD, not here.

Yes, he was actually the president of Cantor Fitzgerald.
The media does indeed love the children – like the reports after the tsunami. 35% of the victims were children! How horrible! Only they didn’t mention the population of children in the area was 40%, so children actually did pretty well, comparatively.
(Numbers not correct, but the relationship is)
Thanks for the info. I was not aware of that.
