Gas company wants me to have up to $500 in rebates
So says their 'Energy Rebate Certificate' they sent me. All I have to do is buy gas appliances to replace the electric ones.
Sounds great! I prefer gas appliances! So... erm... When are you going to run a gas line to my house???

I got this letter too. On the account that doesn't use gas (two family house). Shortly after we had converted to gas heat. So of course, offer isn't valid since I already converted ...... jerks.

Yea, it'd be hilarious if I got this ad. There isn't a gas line within a mile of my house. Sigh. I would love to have a gas stove again.

Can you ask for things like this? I just bought a new gas stove and convert from electric...and have to run the line. I'd love some cash...

We used to get calls about every 6 months, from the local phone company, asking if we wanted call waiting/conference calling/voice mail/caller id...
Now I've wanted to get back on voice mail ever since I moved out of Chicago, 6 years ago, but each time they'd call I'd have this conversation: "Are you sure I can get those features at my house? They weren't available when we moved in." "Hmm, let me check on that. What is your phone number?" (Huh? You called me.) "It's xxx-xxx-xxxx." "Oh, I'm sorry, those features aren't yet available in your neighborhood. It looks like they should be within a couple of months." Right. Tell me that when we go through this again, 6 months from now, when you call me next. |
