Enter in an artist or song you like and it will play other music you may like as well. It is a great find for the audiophile who wants to discover new artists…
After a while they require you to register, but it is free.

I’m quite liking this - found a couple of bands I might just have a look around for when i’m next shopping. The only problem is it’s a bit NA-Centric - i’m having some trouble finding a couple of lesser-known british bands. I guess that’s to be expected, though.

Thanks from me too. I tried putting in “Kirsty MacColl” and at first it didn’t match her right; I was interested in her Latin/Cuban-influenced sounds and the system matched her other music. So then I tried putting in several of her Latin songs but the only one Pandora recognized was “In These Shoes?” - but not her version; it offered Bette Midler’s cover. Still though, the songs suggested were exactly the type of music I was looking for, by artists I never would have thought of listening to.

I saw this first in one of the other threads, it’s really cool! The bitrate must be pretty high, the sound quality is quite good. I hope this lasts!
Launchcast had a similar concept, then it got bought by Yahoo and the bitrate is low for free users.
As a general rule, Dopers don’t blush all that much.
