I told them so!

We recently a technical exercise at work. Yes, I'm being deliberately vague. Yes, they completely cocked it up with the result that nobody could do certain parts of their jobs. Yes, I'd previously suggested splitting it up - even suggesting the splits. Yes, I'd actually begged them not to do it all at once.

And verily did they make a fine mess.

So I'd just like to say,

TOLD
YOU
SO

In my experience, nobody likes a "Told You So"...

Perhaps you might consider keeping your gloating to yourself for harmony's sake?

Is there anything sweeter than saying "I told you so" and being completely justified? Well, there's one thing. When my husband acts against my advice, and he reaps the harvest of his misjudgement, he looks over to me and says "Don't say a word. Not one word." And I just sit there with a smirk on my face. He knows I told him so. He knows I was right. And now he's telling himself that I told him so. I don't have to say anything.

My husband's version of that is, "You might be partially right." I understand him well enough to know that means, "I was totally wrong, you are totally right, and we need not speak of this again."

One of my workers would say "You were more right than I was."
