because she’s had the bad luck to be in two abusive relationships.
A number of us know otherwise, that Anastaseon is not a fuck up- let’s let her know that here rather than further hijack the other thread.
No one who can come up with a line like this on the spur of the moment could possibly be a fuck up. That’s the kind of thing most of us would only come up with hours or days later, and kick ourselves for not coming up with it then.
I should apologise for even writing that line. I tend to be a stream-of-consciousness writer here on the Dope, and after reading much of the (very good) information in that thread, I realised it didn’t apply to me. It made me think that fuck-ups have to start somewhere, even if they don’t run in the family. That made me think, “Ah, that’s me! I’m the natural fuck up in my family!” The sad smilie was maybe a touch too much of pathos I suddenly had for what I just wrote.
I certainly didn’t intend to come across as an attention-grabber, and for that I apologise (as when I go back and read it now, it appears that way :smack: ). But those of you who did have nice things to say about, you’re too kind.
Anastasaeon is one of the people here whose name I recognize and jump on because I know whatever they’ve written will probably be interesting and always, always well-written. Sometimes funny (smurfs, uh?), sometimes poignant, but always hitting home.
My brother has recently stopped taking English lessons as a “cost cutting measure” (he’s megasupercautios, his piggybank is in good health but the company where he works has a bad case of Red Cancer), I’ve been thinking of pointing him to the board. Yes, there’s some typos - often they get pointed out pretty fast, often by the writer himself, so it’s a good school. There’s the occasional person who can’t be bothered “spel rite” to save his life, but those often don’t last. And there’s people like Anastaseon, whose writings are usually so interesting I wouldn’t notice a typo unless it was in big purple letters
Sometimes I think Ana is my long-lost sister, seperated at birth. Except she has red hair. And is lily-white. But how could she be a fuck up, I love her too much and know better.
Anastasaeon, don’t I keep telling you to stop bad mouthing my friend, Anastasaeon?
You do know you could easily be my baby sister, 'sept your cute…
( I went to the Sound Garden again yesterday…)
I must agree, no one who writes stuff as entertaining and intelligent as Anastasaeon could ever be a fuck-up. Plus, she seems to be a kind person–always appreciated.
I am loathe to bump this back to the first page, since I don’t want to appear as though I am fishing for more kind words, but even more than bringing this back up, I can’t stand not thanking people for their kind words to me. And so, I thank everyone, you are all very sweet, and I appreciate your supportive words. They really made my day.
Also, I want to point out that **mrald ** commiserated with my comments in that thread, and so I would like to take this time to say: mrald is also not a fuck up. I haven’t seen a lot of this poster yet, but that which I have seen seems to show a kind, honest person, and I’m glad she also shared her experiences with us in that thread. Yay, mrald!
Anastasaeon is one of the nicest, most supportive, most charming members of this board. She was overwhelmingly kind to me in this thread, and I have noted countless other examples of her goodness and generosity.
Anastasaeon is one of the SD Pantheon that I consciously look for. Still, that was the first time I read the Smurf story and now my stomach hurts from laughing. Time to start the set-ups, I guess.
I haven’t read anything in this thread except the first three posts, but I’m always excited when I see Anastasaeon’s posts, though. Like George Washington, I cannot tell a lie: I get excited because I wonder if they’re about sex. I’m not disappointed when they aren’t, though, because she’s always got something interesting to say.
Plus, I know that somewhere in the back of her head, bouncing like a Slinky, is the reverberating “fet-waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!” followed by “fet-ooooo-zhhhaaayyy”. That makes me smile.
