So I start a thread about a DA attorney. The rant is, I think, specifically about the prosecutor. Not the status of the charge. Not the result of anything that transpires from the charge. It was about the man himself. It was about the fact that the prosecutor is a complete fucking ass in what he stated pubicly as far as charging a crime. Against someone that state law says didn’t commit a crime.

samclem was kind enough to update the status of the case. The prosecution will not seek charges. Yay. I already knew the case would never be persued. There’s no chance it would ever make it to legal procedures, I was ranting about the guy that had the power to prosecute this, not the status of the fucking charges.

I then responded with a “thanks” for a link to an article that reported the charge wouldn’t be filed. I appreciated it since I wasn’t obsessed over the charge, so I wasn’t actively looking for updates. I was angry about the prosecutor, not the charges. I guess I was vague in the thread. But I was set straight.

Ah, the Google referral. Hadn’t thought of that. Nor have I thought of Live.com, ask.com, etc. Don’t toy with me. Are there places on the internet the a schlub can search databases for news? Where do I sign up?

The rant was about a person, not a case. The update was appreciated. But the update was about the case. (Well, potential case.) Not the person.

Your fucking snide attitude and attempted dressing down was completely uncalled for. As a moderator, you’re expected to be a little more level-headed than the rest of us dumbasses.

You know damn well you were condescending with that post. So to reply to you not necessarily as a poster, but rather a mod that can smite me at will, fuck you.

I’m not going to demand special treatment for paying to post here. But I’ll be damned if I’m going to sit back and take this sort of shit. From someone with considerable weight and a say in banning people that have paid cash, your judgement is in question.

You want to give a side-swipe to someone over something that wasn’t a part of the body of the OP? It was about the person, not the charge you dick.

By the way, can you list somewhere the topics you’ll creatively interpret to lay the smack-down on us poor rubes?

For instance, we’ve seen that:

Rant about a person stating he’d look into prosecuting a crime that doesn’t exist = charges never filed = person did nothing wrong, no Pitting needed.
The rant was about the guy’s abuse of his positon. The fact you couldn’t discern that says a lot.

I imagine were that so, samclem would have closed the thread. Which he didn’t. So I assume he *is * able to discern the thread “was about the guy’s abuse of his positon.”

I think there was attitude there, but it was reasonable. If I make a Pit thread (though I haven’t made many) i’d want to be damn sure I had all the recent information. Sure, maybe the new information is unimportant to my pitting - maybe there isn’t anything new - but until I search for it, how will I know?

I don’t mind a bit of attitude. The fact that the level of condecension in the response was so stark isn’t too much a concern.

From a moderator? This is where we air complaints. Unless I need an update on the forum rules.

I see no mod hat being put on, nor any kind of moddish actions. Samclem was acting as a poster, and as a poster has the same right to give a bit of attitude that anyone else does.

You are pitting samclem as a mod. You understand that there is a distinction between samclem the moderator and samclem the poster. As mentioned, samclem was acting as a poster. The fact you couldn’t discern that says a lot.

duffer, you’re a fucking moron so eager to lash out that it doesn’t matter if the prosecutor was speaking off the cuff, discussing possible avenues pending a further investigation of the event or samclem telling you do some more fucking research, because you’re so fucking hopped with your fucking self -righteous indignation that facts don’t mean fucking shit to you, you stupid fuck.

You know, I was actually going to write a post with a similar title. Except for some reason I really like him and his mods. I can’t explain why.

I was just going to post a backward protest of another recent pit with the title "B____r is a disingenous punk. " because I was so damn frustrated by what the heck it had turned into and how it went on forever. Samclem just happens to be my favorite.

Duffer, someday you might want to take a minute to consider the following thought: “you know, I seem to be constantly in a state of rage over one thing or another. Most of the other folks on this board don’t seem to be anywhere near as angry as I am. I wonder why that is?”

I’m with Duffer here. His pit was the prosecuter even considering charges. That he decided not to counts not one corn kernal in a shit storm.

Agreed. And Samclem said that he didn’t recall having any history with duffer, so the apparently snideness of his remark still seems way out of the blue to me. Perhaps not Pit-worthy, but still rather odd.
