Why isn't microsoft's fingerprint password manager available anymore?

I bought Microsoft's figerprint scanner which came with the software DigitalPersona Password Manager 1.0. Unfortunately, the disk was cracked in shipping. I figured that it wasn't a big deal.......

So I searched the microsoft website and after a short amount of time I found the product and clicked on downloads. Then I found the software download I was looking for! Upon clicking on it, I received a 404 not found. The download has been unavailable for at least two days now.

I can't find an alternative site to download it from either.
Does anyone know why I can no longer download this software?
How about an alternative location to download it from? I can't seem to find that anywhere either. *sigh*

Send them an email with the page URL telling them the problem so they fix it. They can't fix the problem if you don't tell them about it. I'm sure they'll be able to get you your file in a day or two if the holiday affects their response.

I don't know if this will help or not, but you might try contacting Digital Persona themselves.

They are primarily a hardware company and are in business to sell hardware. Since you have already purchased their hardware they might be willing to give you their software. (Note that I do not work for DP nor can I make promises on their behalf.)

The link on the download page works fine for me. Perhaps they just fixed it.

That download page worked fine, but if you click on it for the actual download, you're out of luck.

It works for me. It gave me the save as dialog. The file size is 8 megs, which is over my emails attachment limit or I'd offer to d/l it and email it to you. You might try clearing your cache.

FYI, it's <10mb, so if you have a gmail account (or any other account you are sure can take a file about 8 1/2 meg, I'll email it you.

OK, I saw that your email under your account here is gmail, so I sent it to you. Let me know if it gets blocked because it's an .exe file, some email systems do that blindly even if they detect to virus in the file.

Dagnabbit, gmail does block .exe files, so I changed the extension to ._exe . Rename it back to .exe and you should be in business.

Does anyone have any idea when they're coming out with a new version? The DigitalPersona is still in version 1 and seems relatively old.
