So, for the first time the Israeli High Court of Justice has rules that the government MUST register a pair of gay men (who got married in Canada) as “married.” No “civil union” BS, mind you – married!
While SSM still doesn’t exist in Israel (heck, non-religious marriage still doesn’t exist here :mad: ), it does mean that the law stating that Israel will recognize any valid marriage performed anywhere in the world was upheld with regard to Canadian SSM.
I’m posting this for two reasons – one just to say that sometimes, good news comes out of Israel (and, even as the Straight guy I am, I see this as wonderful news for all freedom-loving people in the world); the second because I hope the Gay contingent on the boards will get a little kick out of this! 
Maybe this can be (part of, the start of…) a Giant Leap for Mankind! (excuse the gender-bias in the last phrase; I’m just staying true the original quote)
