Israel will recognize limited partnership rights for same-sex couples, relating to property and monetary issoes. This follows a court decision earlier this year recognizing gay survivors for purposes of inheritance.
New Zealand has passed a partnership law encompassing such things as inheritance and medical next-of-kin status.
And in anticipated good news, the supreme court of Canada is expected today to release its opinion on the constitutionality of draft marriage legislation submitted to it by Parliament. Assuming it passes muster as expected, Canada could have national SSM by the end of the year (currently the marriage decisions are on a provincial/territorial level).
