Plaxo or other online address books

With a recent upgrade to AOL Instant Messenger, I got an offer to sign up for Plaxo, an online address book. It seems like a good idea. I wouldn't have to worry about carrying around a book or a Palm. As long as I had Internet access, I would have my contact info available.

However, I'm worried about a few things. Will Plaxo use the information to spam my friends? Their privacy declaration is full of words like "value" and "respect", but a bit vague on details. Also, will they always be around? Are there import/export features?

So, I turn to the TM. Does anyone use an online address book? Is Plaxo the way to go, or is there a better one?

Thanks!
