I do appreciate and applaud your willingness to respond to the issues that were left hanging when tomndebb closed the other thread. I’m just wondering why you wouldn’t explain, right here and out in the open, your thinking behind your posts of the other thread. It appeared to me, as you might recall, rank hypocrisy to call for kindness and avoidance of personal attacks from others after demonstrating personal attacks and hostility pretty much right out of the gate.
I’m sure there are a number of people who might be curious to know the answers, but who wouldn’t necessarily care enough to seek out an individualized personal response on the matter.

The thread was closed for entirely unrelated reasons, reasons that strike at the very heart of the SDMB. Do not go there.

It just seems strange to me that, if the initial personal attacks and subsequent sanctimony and moralizing regarding others were offered in a public forum, the explanation for how those two things are not hypocritical should be offered somewhere else.

No, it was closed for other reasons, and the mod who closed it suggested that if we want to continue any of the topics going on in that thread, we could start a new one. Which you did, so I guess I have the same question as Hentor, if you wouldn’t mind answering it.
