My iTunes keeps overlapping songs when burning playlists

When burning disks, my iTunes on my Mac (2 GHz Intel Core Duo running OS X 10.4.8) keeps overlapping songs from the playlist - it'll burn the first 20 or so songs, ask for the next blank disk, then repeat the last four or five songs that it just finished burning and start them as the first songs on next burned disk. It's really pissing me off - I did a massive burn for car cds (in cd format, not mp3), and got about 40 disks burned this way because I didn't realize what it was doing. There doesn't seem to be a setting for this - is there a way I can make it stop doing this, or is this a glitch?

Post your query to the iTunes user discussions at the Apple website.
