I think I am the only person in the universe who has purchased and uses a Zune regularly who doesn’t work for a review website.
I had an Ipod for 4 years and dumped it for a Zune and gave the I to the wife.
Anyone wondering about the microsoft player?
Let me know if you are.
How do you pronounce “Zune”?
No, you’re not the only one. Unless you’re my 16 year-old son.
Scott, is that you? And if so, stop lying about your location, young man!
I just wanted to point that out, so I don’t really have any questions… but I guess I’ll throw you a bone. What color is yours?
Okay, I’ll bite. Admittedly I’m biased toward iPods.
- Why did you choose the Zune?
- What do you like better about it than the iPod?
- What did you like better about the iPod?
- If you had it to do over again, which would you choose?
- Do you ever use the “squirt” feature?
- How does the Zune Marketplace compare with iTunes (ease of use, selection, etc.)?

Please no flash photography, we don’t want to startle our most prized acquisition, the Zune user. Notice the way he/she (we have not sexed this particular specimen yet) attempts to aim his/her Zune at you. If there were another Zune user within these walls, it is beleived that he/she would be doing that to communicate music with you. Alas, this is only speculation as no other Zune user has been captured from the wild to demonstrate this behavior.

1.) I liked the brown and green chassi and I really liked the larger screen, as cheesy as it sounds, I got tired of that weak little screen on the ipod with a plain white back ground. I like my Incredible Hulk background on my Zune better.
- The interface is superior in every way, and like I said, I’ve had an ipod for years. The zune buttons work so much better than the Ipods when driving. Much easier to pick tracks and albums. It’s also nice to be able to operate it THROUGH my pocket on my BDUs instead of having to have skin contact. Same goes for winter with gloves on.
The menu system is superior and much faster to navigate than the Ipod. I like that it shows full screen album art when playing, it looks good in my truck when I have it mounted in there. You can turn shuffle on or off with one button press on the zune, as opposed to having to back all the way out to the settings menu on the ipod. I can’t believe they haven’t fixed that yet. It’s mind blowing to me really.
It has a radio, which isn’t awsome but I do use it some times and it gets really good reception considering it doesn’t have an external antenna. The screen, tho it’s the same resolution I think, is much prettier and I really like personalizing the background. I really like the non-scratch case and minimum scratch screen. I carry it in my pocket or in my book bag with no cover or screen guard on it and it still looks brand new after 2 months.

The Zune only comes in 30GB right now, and my Ipod was 80. I have like 35GB of music so I had to chop some out of the library to load up the Zune. Ipod was a little thinner and maybe lighter. Far more accessories for the Ipod than Zune, though the Zune fit like a glove in my Ipod dock in my truck. I swear it fits better than my ipod did. Battery on the Zune isn’t as good as the Ipod I had. I probably got 12-14 hours out of my 5G Ipod, but I get maybe 7-9 out of my zune (continuous that is).

Zune for sure. No regrets there.

“squirt”? Is that the wi-fi sharing thing? If so I don’t know anyone else who has one (and I’m on a college campus) so I haven’t tried it, but if I could I wouldn’t use it anyway. Not interested in sharing music really.

I didn’t use Itunes but I’ve bought one album from Zune market and I hate it. I didn’t like Itunes to be honest but I hate MS points system. Retarded.
