From the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer:

Almighty God, we commend to your gracious care and keeping all the men and women of our armed forces at home and abroad. Defend them day by day with your heavenly grace; strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them;, and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

I'll pray for the family too, they're the ones who are going to need it now.

Damn! Damn! Damn!

He was one of the good guys, and he wore the name "Geek" as a badge of honor.

It was neither mundane or pointless, Czarcasm, but thanks for posting it.

I know it wasn't, but we Mods get to play by the same rules as everybody else-wouldn't really be fair otherwise.

Being as Ft. Riley is relatively close to Topeka, we get a lot of their news. The above article appeared in Sunday's Topeka Capital-Journal.

To write so eloquently about one's death, what a gifted man. I barely know him and I already miss him.

I always wondered what I would wish for, were I to die.

Now I know - to be regarded so well by so many.

Oh, my God, this one went straight to my heart! He was a Fort Carson man. Look at the half-smile on the man's face -- that is the look of a self-effacing humanitarian if ever I saw one. He was grateful to have been able to help!

Czarcasm is right -- he was one of the good ones.
